Mission

The mission of our department is to educate designers who are capable of developing creative, original, and sustainable solutions in the field of textile and fashion design; who possess comprehensive knowledge of design and production processes; who uphold strong ethical and social responsibility values; who can adapt to sectoral expectations; and who demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit and the potential to drive transformation.

In this context, our goal is to foster students’ skills in creative thinking, problem-solving, innovative production, and professional competence by providing an educational environment that embraces an interdisciplinary approach, integrates research with practice, and is supported by a workshop-based production culture.

Relationship Between the Department Mission and the Faculty Mission

The mission of the Department of Textile and Fashion Design is strongly aligned with the overarching missions of the institution and the faculty. Department’s Strategic Plan Objective

The strategic objective of the Department of Textile and Fashion Design is to educate qualified designers who can compete at national and international levels, integrate design–production–technology processes, and develop innovative solutions within the framework of sustainability and ethical values. In line with this objective, the program aims to strengthen its practice-oriented educational structure, enhance collaborations with industry, increase the visibility of research and project outputs, develop infrastructure for digital design and new production technologies, and effectively operate graduate tracking mechanisms.

Furthermore, regularly updating the curriculum in line with stakeholder feedback and maintaining quality assurance and accreditation processes in a sustainable manner are among the department’s strategic priorities.
