Our department is among the most well-equipped institutions in Türkiye within its field. It offers students the opportunity to transform their ideas into tangible outcomes, from yarn to finished product, through facilities that include a ring spinning machine, yarn doubling and twisting machinery, knitting and weaving looms, dyeing and printing equipment capable of executing all types of surface treatments, and fully equipped sewing studios.
Beyond traditional textile and garment design, the department’s capacity to support the development of functional and high-tech fabrics and apparel sets it apart. In our advanced computer laboratories, expert instructors teach computer-aided pattern making, three-dimensional garment simulation, and digital fashion illustration. The outcomes of courses in the Department of Textile and Fashion Design are showcased to the public and the industry through fashion shows and exhibitions, as well as displayed at international trade fairs, bringing students together with professionals. In addition, regular technical visits to relevant industrial enterprises and design fairs are organized.
